TRANSPORTATION OF ANIMALS AT THE PENSION

Make sure your dog has just been out for a walk and is on a leash when you come to bring or pick it up. Cats should be in a solid transport box.

At Nationale Dierenzorg your pet is not just in pension but on a holiday!

Every cat has its own kennel, as soon as your cat feels at home, it can go outside or in a room with other cats.

Every dog has its own floor-heated kennel with outside ren. They go out to play in one of the six playgrounds two to four times per day in small groups. Very helpful for social contacts!

Nationale Dierenzorg has its own veterinarian who visits all departments twice a week.

Complaints determined by the attendants are then discussed and are treated directly if necessary.

In case of emergency transport to the vet on duty is available.

We will do our best to offer your animal a pleasant holiday. If you go on holiday as well we hope you have a nice time and …………….our attendants welcome any mail cards!

Vaccinations for all new animals in our pension are checked, both for their own protection and the protection of the other animals.

OUR OBLIGATORY VACCINATIONS:

Dogs:

1. Distemper (every two years)

2. Leptospirose & Parvo (every year)

3. Kennel Cough *

* The kennel cough vaccinations are no part of the standard vaccinations; make sure your vet vaccinates your dog for kennel cough as well.

There are 3 types of Kennel Cough vaccination:

NOBIVAC KC (nose drops), valid for 1 year, vaccination at least 7 days before your dog arrives at our pension.

INTRAC (nose drops), valid for 6 months, vaccination at least 14 days before your dog arrives at our pension.

PNEUMODOG (injection), valid for 1 year, for first time users the injection should be give twice. Two to three weeks after the first injection the second injection should be given. A week after the second injection the dog is sufficiently protected to stay with us.

If you are in doubt you can always call us!

Cats:

1. Feline Distemper (every 2 years)

2. Cat Flu (every six months)

To be given at least one month before their stay. The injection must be valid at least until the day of collecting your cat.

Note: Normally one vaccination a year against Cat Flu is sufficient. In the boarding kennels however there is an increased risk of cat flu because many cats are in the same space.

VERY IMPORTANT:

Animals that have not been vaccinated correctly cannot be accepted. Please be sure to bring the vaccination papers every time you bring your cat or dog in!

INSURANCE

The pension accepts absolutely no liability for damage to your animals or damage caused by your animal during the stay in our pension (see article 6:162 and 6:179 of the Burgelijk Wetboek), on the understanding that own set up is not included. Animals taken in pension have not been insured against any risk. If you would like any kind of insurance you should take care of this yourself (outside Nationale Dierenzorg)

ANIMAL PASSPORT/MICROCHIP

Dutch law on animal protection stipulates that an official Dutch animal passport or vaccination document with valid vaccinations is obligatory for animals taken in pension.

This law also requires the pension holder to keep a copy of this data for at least three years.

Although no longer obliged, it is wise to have your animal “chipped” with a micro chip. This makes it easier to find your animals when it is lost. Please consult your veterinarian.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

We would like to inform you if something is wrong with your animal. Therefore we would like to have a phone number where we can reach you during your holiday. Next to that we would also like to receive a phone number from somebody that knows that your animal is in our pension and that is familiar with your animal. If you are not able to come pick up your animal yourself we would like to know the name of the person that will pick it up. This person should be able to show identity papers on our request.
